Where Avant-Garde Meets Dance
Smooth Dances
Waltz: Everyone has heard about the most beautiful and graceful dance - the waltz.
Waltz assists in our learning how to navigate around the room while rotating in a clockwise and counter
clockwise pattern around the room. This dance is elegant and thrives on rise and fall action.

Tango: This is the most aggressive passionate dance. Its foundations where that of Argentine Tango and as it
was brought to Europe and was revived to a more socially acceptable dance. It was at one time quite
controversial.  The characteristics of Tango are sharp and full of energy.

Viennese Waltz: This is the mother of all dances.
Meant for the perfect ball gown and tuxedo. Meant for a prince to sweep his princess off her feet. Viennese
Waltz thrives on the knowledge of Waltz and the drive of Tango and Foxtrot. Viennese Waltz makes some
dizzy but all to be filled with glee.

Foxtrot: Everyone enjoys a walk in the park, well Foxtrot is the way to go. This dance is the easiest to learn
and the most challenging to master. Students who focus on the smooth dances find that Foxtrot gives them a
new type of balance and style to their dancing. It is meant to be danced in all occasions and brings back the
aristocracy of Fred and Ginger.

Rhythm Dances
Rumba: This dance is romantic and dynamic. It focuses on the energy of love with different sized circles and
shapes. This dance is where we are able to focus on the development of Cuban Hip Motion.  Cuban Hip
Motion is vital to all Latin Dances as well as to East Coast Swing.

Cha Cha:  Cha Cha is a playful dance with sharp controlled foot work.  It has speed, and energy, yet at the
same time can be easily learned and enjoyed.

Mambo and Salsa: Mambo is the sister to Salsa. Mambo has intense hip action and precision footwork. It is
much sharper as it is staccato and must be danced on 2-3-4. Salsa on the other hand is more laid back and can
be danced on 1.They share the same steps. Most students who study one or the other, are aware and are
proficient in both dances.

EC Swing: East Coast Swing has three different timings, single double and triple. Many find a preference in one
timing or another, but students learn how to differentiate in the timing so they can dance to any music. EC
Swing is full of spins and turns and much more fun stuff that makes everyone's evening more enjoyable.

WC Swing: West Coast Swing is perfect for Rhythm and Blues style music. It has a slow slinky walking style
for the lady and is a great way to play with syncopated styles of music.

Samba: This dance is known as the Brazilian Waltz and is a dance you could see at Carnival. Samba has
bouncy movement to it and utilizes Cuban Hip Motion to the maximum. It is a great way to work on core
movement and getting around the room.Samba uses many steps that are used in Rumba and Waltz.

Night Club Two Step: Night Club Two Step is perfect for when you have no clue what the dance could be to
the music. It is a beautiful combination of Samba, Rumba, and other dances. This dance is great for weddings
and other social occasions.
